Pray for the Uyghurs of China
I hadn’t seen my friend in a while, so it was a pleasant surprise when I stopped by his place this week. The last time we met, he had suggested that I might have a demon or demons attached to me, given all the struggles I’ve been facing. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m under attack. I’ve been having a tough time finding and keeping a job, and things just seem to be getting worse.
My last night in a nearby town was a disaster. I was sleeping in the park and got beat up by some drunks. I felt like I’d hit rock bottom. But when I saw my friend, he took me in and showed me kindness. He gave me some food, let me shower and shave, and we started talking.
He asked me if I had ever called on God to have a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. I had to admit, I didn’t really understand what that meant. He explained it to me, and I felt a sense of curiosity. He asked me if I was ready to make that decision, and I said yes. I don’t really know what I’m getting myself into, but I feel like I need something to change.
He led me in a prayer to ask Jesus into my life, and I felt a sense of peace wash over me. But the next day, when I came back to visit, I could tell that my friend was still concerned about me. He asked me more questions, and I realized that I’ve been trying to earn my way to heaven through my good works. I didn’t realize that I was still trusting in myself, rather than trusting in Jesus.
I can tell that my friend is burdened for me, and I appreciate his concern. I’m not really sure what’s going on in my mind, but I feel like I’m in a battle. I’m not sure if I’m really a follower of Christ, or if I’m just trying to do the right thing. I hope that my friend can continue to guide me and help me understand what it means to truly follow Jesus.

It is illegal to share the gospel in China and many Uyghurs are restricted from hearing the gospel by their Muslim leaders and culture as well. They desperately need people to pray for and share with them. |

Pray for God to build his church among the Uyghurs.
Pray that leaders and evangelists would come forth from His church among the Uyghur people.
Pray that the Han led churches and Uyghur led churches would not only peacably co-exist but accept that they can have different methods as they seek to build more churches amongst the Uyghur people.
