Pray for Tang
As a Hakka, I worship my ancestors, even back multiple generations to bring honor to my family. If I choose to follow Christ, I may be rejected by my immediate family as well as the larger Hakka community. If I follow Jesus, the spirits and gods, as well as my ancestors, will be displeased with me and may bring harm to me and my family. Most of us, especially family leaders, have never heard Jesus’ story, even though many Taiwanese Christians live around us.

God, we praise you that you sent Jesus as the way to eternal life. We pray that the Hakka of Taiwan may believe in Jesus and have fellowship with you and other believers.
“And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
Pray for Taiwanese neighbors to respectfully tell the Hakka about Jesus, bringing His light and truth into their communities, freeing them and their families of the burden of ancestor worship.
Taiwan’s Hakka are the most unreached Hakka people group, making up almost 20% of Taiwan’s population, but only 5/1000 are followers of Christ. Pray for divine opportunities for Taiwanese believers to share the story of Jesus with the Hakka.
Pray for Hakka believers to find deep community in the church. Help them find new ways to honor their families and their Hakka heritage while worshiping God alone.
