Pray for Pema
I work long hours each day gathering wood and water and working in our fields. Unfortunately, the fields never yield enough to sustain us all year. We don’t have electricity or cell service so I feel disconnected from life outside the Dolpo villages. I always live in fear of evil spirits and worry my good karma will not outweigh my bad karma. Everyone I know believes in Tibetan Buddhism.

“For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.” Psalm 16:10
God, You did not abandon Jesus to Sheol or let His body see corruption. You raised Him from the dead so that the Dolpo people could be saved and brought into relationship with You. May the few Gospel recordings available in their language find the hearts that are ready to receive the Good News.
” For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:20-23
As high mountain farmers, the Dolpo know that their hard work is not often enough to supply what they need. Pray for God to show them that their religious efforts are insufficient as well and actually only lead to death.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal the free gift of God – eternal life through Jesus – to the Dolpo people.
The Dolpo are cut off from electricity and cell coverage; pray for solar powered devices full of Gospel stories to become the source of community entertainment and result in new life.
